How can we secure a better future for our children? One of the ways is by introducing them to a foreign language from an early age.

Last week we named some advantages in part 1, this week we’ll talk about a few more.

  • Learning a second language makes them better at mastering their own because they are more focus on the mechanism of language. They pay more attention to the structures of their mother tongue. They learn to communicate in a more effective way.
    • Knowing one or more foreign languages is becoming essential in today’s globalised world. Soon those who only speak one language will be left behind.

    • learning another language becomes easier because their brain acquires the skill to break down in a series of steps the techniques of learning and their capacity to reproduce the same process over and over is enhanced.


    * It boosts their CV

    Their chances of finding a decent job in the future will be greater. It will be an asset that their employer will appreciate. They will be regarded as highly motivated individuals.

    Travelling will be more enjoyable for them if they can communicate in the language spoken in their host country. They will be able to understand more about the culture and the way of life.

    For people who get a satisfactory level of French, for example, the French Government offers grants to enrol in post-graduate courses in France in the discipline of their choice to any of the French renowned Universities and business schools. Other European Governments offer the same advantages.
